Zapping zits with light

Light pen eliminates skin blemishes.

A Orem, Utah company has developed a pen-shaped device that uses advanced light technology to eliminate skin blemishes including acne. The pen, which retails for around $150, uses blue light to kill harmful bacteria and red light to reduce skin healing time. According to the company, not only can light reduce or eliminate current breakouts, but it can also prevent blemishes from forming in the first place. The pen is completely portable and its makers claim that it only needs to be used for a few minutes a day to see results.

Here’s a video of the product which was featured on ABC’s “Good Things” show:

However, researchers have used FP technology with impressive results. The study involved patients with moderate-to-severe facial acne scarring.
